November Rules!
It's official - November is stoner month. Look out for loads of cool bands coming your way, if you live in the UK that is. You get to see bands such as Unida, Orange Goblin, Fu Manchu, Hangnail, Karma To Burn, Roadsaw, Dying Sun and Khang. Check the Tour Dates for more info.

The Millenium Cometh
Canadian Sabbath impersonators sHeavy will return early in the new year with a new album. Tentatively titled Celestial Hi-Fi, the recording is well underway. By the sound of it many of the 'ghost tracks' recorded with the drums are getting used on the final recording, so it should sound nice and live.

Stoner Roadshow
Look out early in the new year for Dying Sun coming to a venue near you. The qrazy quartet will be heading off to new territories early in the year, perhaps late January. Later in the year they are set to record a breakthrough EP which will see them Rise Above the pack.

Old Cathedral
October saw the release of some very old material from Coventry doomsters Cathedral. In Memoriam features four demo tracks from the very original lineup back in 1990, plus five live tracks from Holland in 1991. Sounding more like sludge-doom monsters Warning than Cathedral's current groove oriented approach, this album is definitely for die-hard fans.

Newclear Blast
Haha, wasn't that a funny one! Nuclear Blast America have recently appointed Paula Hogan as their new Managing Director. She has plenty of experience, most

recently being NBA's Director of Publicity and Marketing for the past year.

Sample The Swedes
Look out later in the year for a compilation featuring the finest of Swedish bands. Entitled Power From The North - Sweden Rocks The World, it will include bands such as Entombed, The Haunted, In Flames, Meshuggah, Gooseflesh, Hammerfall and Yngwie Malmsteen.

Hardcore Festival
November 21st sees the release of a Cro Mags tribute CD through Ian Glasper's  Blackfish Records. To launch the CD there will be a

festival with 8 bands from the CD, including Stampin' Ground. It takes place on Sunday 21st of November in London's Red Eye, starting at 5pm and tickets are £5. The CD will be available for £4 on the night.

Sale Of The Century
Until the end of 99, Century Media are making 42 of their most popular releases available at mid-price. These include Cryptopsy (Whisper Supremacy), Daemonarch (Hermeticum), Strapping Young Lad (Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing), and Stuck Mojo (Snappin' Necks / Pigwalk / Rising). Don't miss it!

Cradle Of Filth
The white faced bunch release their first EP, From The Cradle To Enslave, on November the 1st. It features six tracks, two new ones, two covers, and two remixes. The covers are Death Comes Ripping by The Misfits and Sleepless by Anathema.
"Not content with seeing the 90’s out with the release of their debut E.P.,
Cradle Of Filth have guaranteed their place in the year 2000 as part of the Museum Of British History Exhibition in the Millennium Dome. The video of ‘From The Cradle To Enslave’ will be shown, subtitled with their lyrics in one of the Dome’s Zones to demonstrate Old Language in Modern usage. The exhibition video will

also be shown in schools and universities around the country." Eh?!? Bizarre.

Bloco Vomit
Edinburgh's Samba Punkers recently signed to Brazillian label Trama Records. This got the band a slot on the Abril Pro Rock festival in Brazil. Also in December 1999 they release Play This You Bastard - nice one!

Gathering Delayed
The upcoming live album from The Gathering has been delayed until early 2000 due to touring commitments.

British Heavy Metal !!
(as Ben Ward would say). Graham Finney from

Intoxicated zine is setting up a new website dedicated to the UK scene, signed and unsigned. It will include info on bands, zines, venues, clubs etc. If you want to be featured, send an email to Graham. See the Intoxicated site for more info.

Lock Up Your Daughters
Look out for new supergroup Lock Up, signed to Nuclear Blast. They consist of Shane and Jesse from Napalm Death, Nick Barker (ex COF), and Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy), so I'm sure they'll be quite heavy!
